Opening the Latin American Centre for Personal Autonomy and Technical Aids CIAPAT

In today attended the inauguration of Latin American Centre for Personal Autonomy and Technical Aids (CIAPAT) of the American Social Security Organization (OISS), an international body of technical and specialized, which aims to promote the economic welfare Social and citizens of Latin American countries and those that are linked by the English and Portuguese, through coordination, exchange and utilization of their mutual experiences in Social Security.

The opening ceremony was conducted by Dr. Adolfo Jimenez Fernandez, Secretary General of Ibero-American Security Social (OISS), Mr. Paola Vessvessian , National Secretariat for Children, Youth and Family (SENNAF), Dr. Luciano Di Cesare , Executive Director National Institute for Retirees and Pensioners (INSSJyP ), Mr. Diego Bossio , Executive Director Social Security Administration (ANSES), Dr. Ricardo Bellagio , Superintendent Health Social Services and Ms. Raquel Tiramonti , President the National Advisory Committee for the Integration of Disabled Persons (CONADIS).




Among the objectives are CIAPAT Personal Empowerment, Accessibility and use of technical aids for the elderly, people with disabilities and / or dependent people in Latin American countries.

The CIAPAT is a response to the need for information and knowledge on the subject raised in the region.

Maintained by the Center for Regional Action Southern Cone, with the active participation and collaboration of the National Institute for Retirees and Pensioners of the Republic Argentina (PAMI) and the support of other national institutions.

The CIAPAT headquarters is located in the Southern Cone Regional Center of the OISS, in the city of Buenos Aires.

Its mission is to serve as a reference and guidance in Accessibility, Support Products and Design for All.

The Center will be dedicated specifically to improving accessibility and developing comprehensive technology. Promote the understanding and optimization of products and design support for all, to try to improve the quality of life for all citizens, with special attention to people with disabilities, older adults and people in dependent.

Its objectives are:
- Provide support and referral in Accessibility, Assistive Technology and Design for All Latin American level.
- training, information and advice.
- Facilitate knowledge and successful use of technical aids.
- Encourage the active participation of all users.
- Encourage innovation in designs for everyone.
- To strengthen the design and production of assistive technologies.
