Spark Green Beans Mircrowave

Desalination

I read the other day that in the region of Murcia will be lost around 70 million because of drought. And only in Murcia. And you can not say that is because of global warming, as for example in China is having the heaviest snowfalls on record ever ... but it is clear that climate change is leading to more extreme weather events than usual: snow in China, drought in Spain, huge tornados, floods ...

But speaking of the drought was thinking: "That damned irony that the sea covers 75% of the planet, yet we have drought." And then it occurred to me

And if we built desalination plants for farmers?

You see: water desalination plants is not fit for human consumption. However if it serves for irrigation, and water is a virtually endless ... if we speak of seawater. And once you've built a desalination plant, water only costs you what it costs.

The idea could be implemented eg as follows: the regions are divided by area farmers, the size which can power a desalination plant (in the photo that I have, if you click it, you see just that.) Let's say a desalination plant to cater to 1000 farmers in an area of \u200b\u200bMurcia. Those 1000 farmers mounted a "cooperative" and build their desalination plant. Could for example be financed by the government, leaving the money at the lowest possible interest. Between 1000 farmers would not be very expensive to build the desalination plant, and was once built would supply water to grow to a very low price because they do not "buy" water anyone would own its own water desalination plant. Only have to spend money on maintenance of the desalination plant. And it's not the money "saved" in the water, especially do not lose by drought, as we have heard on the news is an outrage. And thus saving fresh water for human consumption, which partly palliate the country's drought. Disadvantages

I do not see too: you have to build desalination plants, yes, but significantly cheaper than the money lost by the drought, and that is lost every year, in the desalination just have to make an initial investment, then you hard many years. Help to alleviate the drought, which each year will be more acute. The country's crop would be much more productive, and therefore would have to import less from abroad. The water resources of the sea is practically infinite (if we had just one day it ... we have a BIG problem.) In addition, the government needs to collaborate, all farmers who lose the final touches on severance pay, import food from the exterior makes up inflation, etc. No ... Do you see a problem?

Farmer Dam Cover Solar Sun

The current problem of global warming is largely due to greenhouse gases. The effect is basically to retain the sun's rays, warming the planet.

And it's a very difficult situation to reverse. Protocols such as "Kyoto " or the failed "Bali" (if the U.S. was committed, but so slight that it was a failure), the only thing expected is a reduction of pollution. No talk of "cleaning up contaminated", but only a little less polluting. This means that we pollute.

So the outlook for the situation to normal is impossible. Although contaminate "a little less," the only thing we will do is raise the temperature "a little less," but we will continue to rise. The picture does not look good at all. A solution requires a global commitment, that commitment is almost impossible, especially when it is to make companies less competitive, or force them to spend part of their budget on something that short and medium term will bring them no benefits.

Thus, despite attempts by governments to meet many times in the face of public opinion that to revert the situation, the issue is getting worse. There are different measurements, but so far this century has not increased or the temperature a degree and we already have "the strongest drought," the largest tornadoes, "the worst rains ", etc. And it is estimated that within 50 years will have increased 4 degrees temperature. Go wrong. We would need to reduce "average grade" global temperature ... and more in the future.

And if we cover the sun?

We are not talking about "cover it" real, only to place in orbit mirrors or panels large enough to cover "a little" sun. Only one or two percent. Enough to offset the temperature rise by the effect of greenhouse gases. It would be something like the picture, although in a much smaller scale, of course. There would be no zone "overshadowed" just a little more obscured for a few minutes.

to it well:
  • Worldwide spending also would not be exorbitant. Possibly much less than the cost of trying to pollute less. And it's easier to agree.
  • The closer is the single panel has to be fairly large. While in orbit, we need not be the same size as the proportion of land we want to "darken" it would be much lower.
  • Companies do not lose competitiveness by not having to "pollute less."
  • would not be "a bad workaround" as the protocol of "Kyoto", which does not provide a solution, if not slow down the problem. This really would be lowering the planet's temperature at a rate equivalent to that which has gone up. And it could be scalable in the future if necessary.
  • would launch new space race
  • could also be combined with any other project. For example, instead of mirrors, could be "solar panels" would generate a tremendous amount of energy, to be facing the sun directly, and large platform behind the solar panels could be placed the "Space Station International. This would have energy for all your projects in, and the astronauts would be much better protected from harmful solar rays (one of the biggest problems in space).
Another idea might be to put a telescope inside the solar panels (power serve him). When you are behind, could see much better in the light of distant stars without the interference of light from our Sun
there are all kinds of problems: the calculation of the size of the "mega panel "(could be many panels close, we would not need to be one giant) to affect as opposed to the greenhouse effect, the location of these panels, and that would shadow on any part of the Earth and could be harmful to plants and animals (even if a small percentage would not have to, in addition to the rotation of the earth would be only "a little less sun for a few minutes, like turning a cloud). But the benefits far outweigh and disadvantages, and it would be a thing of scientists studying the most favorable. For example, the panels could be placed so that most of the time pass above the desert, which is a wasteland almost dead and hurt at little (or even may have been good, so is more difficult than advancing desertification). Or for example could be placed so that the shadow would especially at the poles, which is another area almost dead (with this we could get even reverse the melting of the poles). Anyway, what seems clear is that currently are not doing enough and that things will get worse, and it takes an idea like this or something like (immediate and worldwide) to get to reverse the situation.

Brazil Women Soccer Shower

For this first idea I combine two elements: to get clean energy and save water at the same time. INTRODUCTION

The enegía solar energy is "free." That is, once put a solar panel, that panel will pay for the energy produced. And you're not spending any fossil mineral or energy to get this in any way impairing the environment. To all this, we must add that lately there have been many advances in solar energy with new materials that can more efficiently taking advantage of sunlight, or techniques that reduce the amount of material "solar panel" need, minimizing the installation cost.

To install a solar panel need a relatively flat (plane), where with enough sunlight. Moreover, once achieved that energy, we need a wiring system to a powerhouse that collect, store and distribute.

Another problems is that the drought and water shortages. Even in developed countries such as Spain, not many years can we begin to need to restrict their consumption. Now it is necessary to have water-saving methods and raise awareness of this need. Although not all spending depends on drinking water, there is a significant part of water lost from the lakes evaporate. Although this evaporation is due to contact with air a factor in this evaporation is the solar radiation received .

So combining the two concepts comes this idea: DAM

SOLAR

Q e want to get cheap, clean energy (solar energy) through solar panels, taking advantage of new and efficient methods and materials. We need a spot to put the panels, so it would have to buy it. We need the ground is smooth. We need a connection to a power plant. Probably need private sector finance.

What if we put solar panels on top of a lake?

Let's think: The surface of the lake is a large flat surface, wasted, which receives sunlight in spurts. Could be responsible for putting the electric company that manages the dam, as the "field" of the lake is theirs and not have to make investment in land. In addition, the "food" and are connected to power plants, thereby connecting the power generated is quite simple. And is the company that manages the dam who can put the money to install because the land is yours, the power is yours, and the benefits would be yours. The plant workers themselves could be responsible for maintaining panels.

But still the idea has another advantage: While the solar panels on the lake, the lake will get less solar radiation (only small gaps left panels), thus greatly reduces the effect of evaporative lake water! We're saving a lot of water because of this. Even the water saving is a side effect is that having more water in the lake, the power center of the lake, which produces electricity through the stored water can make up to be more water. So not only do we get solar enegía, and save water, but even more electricity through the stored water.

The idea is there, now would be a matter for the engineers to see what would be a cheaper and more efficient to place the panels. I have proposed two different in the two montages that you see: a serious as they are placed on the ground, with solar panels anchored to the floor of the lake using "sticks." Thinking perhaps of the difficulty of maintaining the solar panels ("employees with boats passing between the panels?), It strikes me that you could also build platforms over the large lake (with ladders to climb them) on which would the solar panels. Or they could be placed on giant rafts, and whether to raise or lower the level the lake, there are always floating, and as no tidal lakes ... Possible

defects of this idea I see a priori is that the assembly of solar panels would be more expensive than on land (or maybe not, because the more money you could spend on the installation, you may save cabling to the plant and to buy the dump to place the panels), and, perhaps, possible effect of humidity on the solar panels. But perhaps these elements are negligible to the energy efficiently achieved, planetary pollution abatement, and saving water resources.

There is the idea.

EDIT:

Among many interesting comments, has said that solar panels do not change all the solar energy, and the rest, turning it into heat, may have the opposite effect of heating water Instead of cooling. To try to confirm or refute this idea, I made the following experiment simulates solar panels, placing two glasses of water over one of them I placed a tripod with a covering of black, a few inches away. I left an hour sun. The water evaporated, so little time was almost nil in the two, but by measuring the temperature was 3 degrees below the glass covered. In the first photo You can see two glasses of water, on the left with the black cover (if it is in home plan lol). In the glass on the right is the cup without cover, in the photo is within a cable that measures the temperature ... The second picture is less important, is just to show how the lid is placed a little above the glass.

The conclusions drawn from this is that although the water reflects a portion of the received sunlight, the solar panels would cover the lake will not reach anything that enegía, so that cooling is greater. And while the black was hot, had a small air space, and this being a good insulator, heat, if transfers would be provided to a lesser extent than it would if it received all the rays of the sun, so that the water temperature to be less evaporate less. By the way, commenting that the lowering effect of temperature on the lake I think it would be higher, for several reasons:
* The glass is transparent, the rays pass through the glass that is not covered. At the lake surface to be dark, and not to escape the sun's rays by the walls of the lake, they retain heat better.
* The surface of the lake for its depth has a greater proportion than that of glass. The lagoon receives only the rays of the "mouth" of the vessel. In the lake the "mouth" is much higher, which receives more sunlight. And being covered, we are much more to share of sunlight. the glass.

Anyway I said, it's just an idea, basic, and of course improved, possibly hundreds of technical elements such as insulators, conductive materials, new materials for solar panels to absorb more radiation ... that may apply to the idea to improve it, we do not know. But there is, available to experts for study and, if really good the are applied.

Disneyland Leather Wristbands

What is this?

Before answering "what is this?" should respond by " Who am I? ." I'm just a dreamer a restless mind cluttered with crazy ideas. So ... that one has to be good;)

And this, this blog is nothing more than an open door to the imagination. A place to dream, a place to scatter all these ideas that make me wake up at odd hours, and that if plasmas are somewhere lost in dream worlds.

intend this blog to unleash all sorts of strange ideas and projects to be happening to me, for various things you can imagine. Ways of saving water? "Revolutionary new program? New ways of mobility? Does the space? All this and more will fit here. Go trying to reel off all these ideas, explaining why I think they are revolutionary, how should their development, if you see the future, etc.
And if you like any idea, and it sounds viable ... Why not put it into practice? "I will remember you when you are rich?

Let me dream. And who knows ... maybe one day my dreams become reality for Men
